I slept like shit last night. I just started reading an Irish detective series, and I could not put it down! I was up until about 1:30 reading (after trying, unsuccessfully, several times to fall asleep), and then my BFF Brian texted me at 6 AM asking if I'd watched The Queen's Gambit yet. Sigh, he's on east coast time. I was able to fall back asleep, but awoke in sinus pain and pressure around 8:30. Obviously, the last thing I wanted to do was to do my kriya.
But I showed up. With a little help from my calming classical music mix (thanks, Spotify!), I made it through and even gave myself a gold star. My core strength still stinks, I still found my mind wandering, I was still getting texts from the important people in my life about my mom's status, but I showed up.
When I got to the final Laya Kriya, I thought it would be fun to count how many times we chanted the mantra. It, along with the bhavana and the beautiful music (Sat Kartar laying in some Arabian Dance from the Nutcracker!) really kept me focused up until the end. And I counted 86 repetitions! I was expecting 108.
Day three: showing up even when you don't want to is the first test.
