Yoga for People Affected by Cancer


Are you facing a cancer diagnosis?  Has a loved one recently received a cancer diagnosis? No matter where you are on this life-changing journey, yoga can help to improve quality of life during and after treatment. Five years ago I was undergoing radiation treatment for breast cancer. I am so grateful to be on the other side of this disease. Yoga has truly helped me manage my side effects and my emotions during my treatment and after. Every Thursday at 2 PM PST/5 PM EST, I will honor those of us affected by cancer with a free online yoga class.


This class is completely free whether or not you have a membership with Second Bloom Yoga Studio. But you must sign up here to get your Zoom link.


Please spread the word and let those of your friends and family who might benefit from this class know about this free online offering!


What can you expect from this class?

- A chance to create a community with other people affected by cancer. You are not alone!

-An hour of gentle activity where we use our body's intuition to help us handle the side effects of a cancer diagnosis which may include insomnia, pain, anxiety, fatigue, or digestion issues.

-Tools for your toolbox that you can use off your mat such as breathing techniques, personal affirmations and mantras, and gentle stretches.

-A guided meditation where you can completely relax.

If you're interested in joining the Second Bloom Yoga online community, there are a few things to keep in mind.

1) All times listed on the website are PST. If you're in the CST or EST, just add 2 or 3 hours to what is listed.
2) Vagaro (the scheduling software that Second Bloom uses) works best with any browser other than Chrome. If you use Chrome, you may get some error messages. If that occurs, try clearing your cache or make sure you have the latest update of Chrome. If you're still running into issues, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I can add you manually.

3) We are all living in challenging times due to this pandemic. If money is a little tight, we want to make sure that you're still able to practice yoga with us. Therefore, Second Bloom Yoga offers free and reduced price memberships. Of course, if you can afford to, we definitely appreciate you paying what you can so we can keep our online studio afloat. You can also elect to drop in for a class here and there. Some classes, like the Morning Pranayama Breathwork, Yoga for Kids, and Yoga for People Affected by Cancer are free or reduced rate as well.
